Made JD snap a pic so I could make this wallpaper last longer. This wallpaper has been up for as long as I can remember. My grand piano (that my friends, Joe and Julia Moore, gave me) sits in this room now. I write a lot in here. Gotta open it up, clean canvas, paint it white, let my mind wander. Sorry, Gran. Love ya; miss ya. #uptheridge #renovations #wallpaper @jdtiner_recording
Honestly I thought he'd already passed. Been listening to this album all week. Feel ya, bro. Thanks for the feels. RIP.
By far the most intense month of my life. 🌀. I said goodbye to my father, hit the road, played great shows, met countless people, signed autographs each night lol, drove through the plains, drove through the desert, saw many mountains, went to Canada for the first time, was humbled and breathless at the multitude of stars in the sky in Washington, learned to surf, flew a drone, rode a hover board, bought legal weed, drank good wine, shared dinners and nights with old friends who are becoming new friends, reconnected with family members, rode bikes in Venice, had my espresso order memorized by a barista in Silver Lake, trespass-hiked near the Hollywood sign, had a spontaneous photo shoot in the desert, wrote like three of these who cares "inspo-grams" ;), cried gallons of tears - the first post-death tears poured on the floor of the Denver airport, knew comfort and peace, went with my gut, rode the wave, and decided to leave my car in Los Angeles. En route to Dallas now on my ninth flight this month. Markus will pick me up at the airport there and we'll bro down on a drive home to Nashville. Before too long it'll be back to Los Angeles for Lord knows why and how long (but at least to get my car). Throwing a solar eclipse party at my home up the ridge on August 21 if you want to chill. Thanks for the siiick photo of me with my dad's 1970s vintage North Face backpack @calebkuhl

A year ago today my record Up the Ridge was released. Today I drive through Joshua Tree en route to Phoenix to play the last show of our west coast tour supporting our friends @birdtalkermusic cuz they dug the record. JD at the wheel and Kate in the front seat of our Tour-SUV. As Granddaddy Mack's license plate read, we out here "DOIN IT." #justdoit #doinit #uptheridge
Hello LA. En route to San Diego to play @sodabarsd tonight at 9:30. Be back tomorrow LA @thehotelcafe at 7! Miss you, Leena!
Sunday drive today was 💯. Made it safely to San Fran, mom.
On my eighth flight in seven days. Life has been a whirlwind. For the past 20 months my father had been fighting cancer. A week ago today, while I was in Denver, he was called home. He was the greatest man I will ever have the pleasure of knowing. Many things could be said about him and many were over this last week and to our friends and family who showed up this week to give us your love, much love to you. I'm so thankful for the time I got to spend with my dad and for his parting gift of sending me out west on this tour. I was unsure whether I should even go at all. Everything in life has felt very inconsequential. But as I pondered with him there on his death bed, he told me to go, without hesitation, in three different conversations, to not wait on him, to live life, and essentially to wake up to my dreams as he did in his life. So I'm out here now overlooking some mountains in Montana en route to Spokane still feeling like none of this is real, but carrying on, his spirit in me, hoping to honor him and to be as strong and gentle as he was during his time here on earth. One saying he ingrained in my head was "If you're gonna do it, do it right." You better believe we gonna do it right. I love you forever, Dad.
Here I am eating chicken and chasing that wild blue wind in Kansas City. Thanks to our friend back home, Linda Yoder, for making the chicken. L I F E.
Had some fun the other night (the 4th) with my Aunt Rhonda 📸, Uncle Mike🎬, and sister, Amy💡~~~
