Have a good trip to [The Other Side of the Sky], Aretha. Found this album working at a restaurant in Nashville where we only played vinyl. I’d play it during close. I stole it when I left. Sorry! Reading Quincy Jones’ autobiography rn and just discovered he produced it. 🤙🏼. This album is 💯/really weird/groovy. Thank you.

Dear Nashville, you are so green and humid and magical with your rhythmic cicadas and glittery lightning bugs. Bring some of that with you to the Basement on August 2. Ticket link in profile. $5 ahead of time. Lemme play ya some stuff I’ve been working on in California. Poster made by my good friend, @tjcinnamons
The other day hopping on my @southwestair flight to Nashville from Los Angeles the flight attendant lit up when he saw that I had a guitar and half jokingly asked if I was gonna play everyone a song. I half jokingly told him that I would. Once we were all boarded he made the announcement that Blake Shelton was on the plane with his guitar and was gonna play everyone a song, so get ready. We took off and in front of me were these obnoxious (lovely, joy filled) tourist coming from Bakersfield sporting #hannahs21st matching t-shirts. I unfortunately didn’t bring headphones so couldn’t really sleep and was kept awake by these whiskey-filled rapscallions. When I got up to use the restroom a few hours in, the attendant said “What happened are you not gonna sing?” I laughed and told him, if you really want me to, I will. He told me to grab my guitar. This is something I probably wouldn’t have done a year ago, but I figured why not bring some joy to these people and who cares if it bombs (which it kinda did - took me a sec to find the key - kinda sounds like 💩), it’ll be a good story for everyone to tell about their flight to Nashville. I sang “Together Again” and then we all sang “Happy Birthday, Hannah.” The tourist tipped me $20. Another passenger airdropped me this video at baggage claim. And Southwest also gave me a nice gift (thanks). Anyway. Here’s another announcement: I want all of you in Nashville on August 2 to be @thebasementnash at 9 PM. Tickets are just $5 adv/$7 at the door. Link in profile.
