Today Puff Mami, my roomie and bff, moved to New York for a job where she’ll be living with my other bff and ex-roomie, Will Farley. I am home sick for them both. Farley taught me how to make this hash on a snow day when we lived together in my home in Greenbrier (Nashville). Sarah left behind this Nashville mug (and her apartment). I am commemorating both of them. Can’t wait to party in NY. All the love. 🧡
A lil A6 # 5 for ya. ;) Always a pleasure playing with my bud @brennethmuir and visiting San Luis. From a couple a weeks back. Hope to be back soon. Thanks for the 📷: @cameroningalls
Checkin insta prob. This weekend I’ll be back in San Luis Obispo performing at See Canyon Fruit Ranch and drinking Shawn’s coffee at Sally Loo’s. Slide to right for deets. Photo from the other weekend at Roughout Ranch in Newberry Springs by @canadared.
A year ago today I was driving out to Malibu to hike and catch a sunset on my first full day living in LA with my good friend, Ian, visiting from NY, when we got the news that Tom Petty had died. We were very near his home in Encino when we got the news and it hit me really hard. The first thing globally that I was sad about since my father’s death a few months prior. We started at track two (loudly af) and listened silently through the album “Wildlfowers” as we drove up Topanga to the coast. Driving back into town along the 101 cranking the greatest hits with places like “Reseda,” “Ventura Blvd,” “Mulholland,” and seeing that Capitol building off the freeway, which I first became familiar with via Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers doc. that probably screwed all of us up in our late teens when we saw it. It tells of his coming to LA from Dixie, you know, running down a dream. I was very sad, but it also felt very right to be in LA. The city rules ✨. Thanks to new friends who’ve become homies and old buds who helped make it homie. Here’s to a year of living in Los Angeles, Tom Petty, and the west side drive cranking Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers I’ll probably be taking later on to commemorate. (Photos from that day).
I turned 30 and 1/2 on Monday. Went to the beach. Met a cute pup. With some friends. California, 🧡. Going back west side tomorrow. Playing @thecinemabar_ for @bobrannen’s bday. At my bday party this year (back in March at Club TeeGee (TeeYee? #rip 🙏🏼 come back! @clubteegee)) he formed a band, @jimbopap, and they’re playing too! So is @photoopsmusic. I play at 9 o’clock. Gonna try to play the harmonica for the first time? Gotta watch some more YouTube vids. How many announcements can I make? One more! 😍 and 📸: @ajordangordon. I’ve spent too much time on this. I’m posting this shit.
LA! I have a show this Sunday night at The Love Song Bar in DTLA with @photoopsmusic + @thayersarrano. Full band show! This is a photo @theroamer took of me on a mountain the day that this jacket came into my life via @jadaandjon ✨. Show at 9 PM. Come hang. It’s free and Photo Ops is rad. And Thayer’s coming from Nashy poo.
Got a new whip. Gonna be driving it up the coastline today and tomorrow to Malibu and Cambria to play some chill tunes. Hmu if you like wine and sunsets.

A year ago today in the backyard I gathered a bunch of friends and family for one last ridge hang before LA and we all looked up in the sky and saw the most epic shit and heard some strange nighttime noises in the middle of the day and we thought about life and our place in the universe a little bit differently. And we said the word “totality” a good amount like we’d used it everyday. And mom had a great time. Solar eclipse photos captured in my backyard by @zachallia + @dave.krugman are 🔥. #solareclipse #totality
This is today. I play at 5 PM. 🦄
Have a good trip to [The Other Side of the Sky], Aretha. Found this album working at a restaurant in Nashville where we only played vinyl. I’d play it during close. I stole it when I left. Sorry! Reading Quincy Jones’ autobiography rn and just discovered he produced it. 🤙🏼. This album is 💯/really weird/groovy. Thank you.
